For a long stretch I prayed for certainty. What I needed was courage.
Certainty would have let me delay. Courage made me move with what I already had, which was usually enough. I notice now that the prayers that changed my life were not the ones asking for the map. They were the ones asking to be made willing.
If you are waiting on a sign, it is worth asking whether you have already been given one and are hoping for a louder version.
